Longhorn Secondary Biology Series is a new course developed in line with the new curriculum implemented from 2003. It fulfills all the goals and targets of the secondary Biology syllabus. It is approved by the Ministry of Education to be used in secondary schools in Kenya.Longhorn Secondary Biology Series makes learning Biology easier and enjoyable by:

• presenting Biology as a practical oriented subject which helps the learner in being initiative in the learning process.
• presenting the contents in well and logically organised topics which facilitate sequential transition from one concept to the next.
•  providing activities and exercises which allow performance evaluation in each topic.
•  having a user-friendly approach which is well-centered on the learner’s own environment for easier understanding.
• integration of text and illustrations which aid and demonstrate concepts for easier understanding.
•  taking care of learners with special needs.

Uketo wa Ushairi kwa Shule za Upili ni kitabu cha kipekee ambacho kimesheheneza tasnifu na maudhui mbali mbali ambayo yanahusu maisha kama vile: mapenzi, unyumba. kunasibu. kuhimiza. kuadabisha, kuelimisha. na kadhalika. Kitabu hiki kina maswali kemkem hususa kwa wanafunzi wa kidato cha tatu na cha nne katika shule za upili. ambao wanajiandaa kufanya mtihani wa kitaifa. Aidha, kitabu hiki kitakuwa na manufaa makubwa kwa wanafunzi katika vyuo vya ualimu wa shule za msingi na hata wanafunzi katika vyuo vikuu.

The text is carefully structured with a lot of emphasis on consistency. It is written in a clear and straightforward language that the average secondary school student can easily understand. A lot of experiments have been included to enhance student participation in the learning process. The book is illustrated with very clear diagrams making it visually appealing. At the end of every chapter are well thought out examination type revision questions.
