Msingi wa Kiswahili 5 kinatimiza kikamilifu mahitaji na masharti yote ya silabasi mpya iliyoanza kutekelezwa shuleni kuanzia 2003. Toleo hili jipya, ambalo ni kubwa zaidi kuliko la kwanza, limepanuliwa iii kumpa mwanafunzi uwezo mkubwa wa kujiimarisha katika lugha ya Kiswahili. Toleo hill:
