KLB Visionary English Literacy Activities Grade 3 Learner’s Workbook has an accompanying Teacher’s Guide that provides the core competences, the skills, the attitudes, the pertinent and contemporary issues that need to be achieved in every strand and sub-strand. The teacher is made aware beforehand of the desired lesson outcomes and is guided on how to facilitate the learners as they carry out the activities given successfully.
The guide explains clearly how the role of the teacher has changed from that of giver of knowledge to that of a facilitator of learning as learners create their own knowledge through doing, and pace and control their own learning.
The Teacher’s Guide also contains information on how the teacher should help the learners carry out all the activities in the Workbook and how to infuse the pertinent and contemporary issues in them. English Literacy Grade 3 Teacher’s Guide further contains information for the teacher that enables him or her to guide the learners to carry out the activities as well as tips on how to handle special needs and multi-ability learners so that learning is made all-inclusive.
The teacher is also helped to implement a formative assessment strategy in the course of learning so that assessment is not just meant to evaluate what the learners have learned but also provides an opportunity for further learning. An assessment rubric is provided in the guide to help teachers assess the achievement of the learning outcomes on a continuous basis.
